Grand Theft Auto 3 is an open world action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It was released on October 22, 2001, for the PlayStation 2, and on June 23, 2002, for the Xbox and Windows. It is the third game in the Grand Theft Auto series, and the first game to be set in a fully three-dimensional environment.

The game follows Claude Speed, a criminal who is framed for murder and forced to work for a mafia boss. He must complete a series of missions in order to clear his name and escape Liberty City, a fictional city based on New York City.
