Born March 24, 1965
The Undertaker debuted as a gimmick for Mark Calaway in 1990. By that point, Calaway had been wrestling for about 6 years in various territories under various gimmicks. They call The Undertaker the Phenom and they are right. He is still one of the top draws, if not the biggest draw in WWE history. I decided that I would include some thoughts from other performers about The Taker.
“Undertaker certainly is a cornerstone of WWE, and just as I say to myself that I really would have liked to been able to get to know and certainly get in the ring with Andre the Giant, just because of all the respect and folklore that went around with Andre, I think The Undertaker has that same sort of respect and folklore around him.” – John Cena
“The Undertaker’s beaten me down pretty bad quite a few times.” – Jeff Hardy
“There’s a reason why “the boys” call the Dead Man “Boss.” – Bubba Ray Dudley
“Thank You Taker for every tour, match, entrance, & moment…for the leadership, mentorship, & most importantly, your friendship.” – Triple H
