Emma Thompson

Born April 15, 1959

Emma Thompson has been a professional actress on stage and screen since the 80s. She is an amazing actress and her ability to bring a strong woman to life on the screen is beyond belief.

Noteworthy

  • Primary Colors – Thompson plays the Hillary Clinton character to Travolta’s Bill. Great role that let her do something a little bit different playing against the mush mouth good old boy that Travolta was doing.
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban – It took someone special to put on the glasses and bring Professor Trelawney to life. Thompson made Trelawney from the books come to life.
  • Nanny McPhee – Very strange movie. Very strange role.
  • Saving Mr Banks – Thompson played the lady that created the character of Mary Poppins. She and Hanks were perfect together in the roles of Travers and Disney.

If you’ve got to my age, you’ve probably had your heart broken many times. So it’s not that difficult to unpack a bit of grief from some little corner of your heart and cry over it.
