Christopher Walken is one of those actors that you look for in a movie, that you hope will pop up in a cameo for no good reason. Walken improves any film he makes an appearance in. His quirky nature, his odd delivery of lines makes him stand out from the crowd. Below are some of my favorite Christopher Walken movies. This is a short list and I have left off some obvious flicks.
- A View to a Kill – Walken is the bad guy in this Bond film that was the last in the line for Roger Moore. Walken and Grace Jones team up to take on Bond and he is a passable Bond villain. I include this movie because this might be the first thing that I remember seeing Walken in.
- Pulp Fiction – As I said above, Walken kicks Pulp Fiction up to an even higher level. His scene with a young Butch, explaining that he carried Butch’s father’s watch in his ass is one of my favorite scenes in cinematic history.
- The Prophecy – This is a lesser known Christopher Walken movie. He plays the angel Gabriel and in this movie, Gabriel is the bad guy.
- Joe Dirt – Another of my favorite Christopher Walken roles. His casting as Clem, the gangster, turned school janitor on the run from the mob was perfect casting.
There are people who are able to plan their career, their future, but I’ve never had any talent for that. I just do things and hope for the best. Say yes, take a chance, and sometimes it’s terrific and sometimes it’s not.
