Christie Brinkley – Born February 2, 1954

Christie Brinkley is one of the dream-girl models of my youth. She was everywhere when I was a kid. Sports Illustrated, TV, movies, music videos – literally everywhere. She was the bubbly personality wrapped in bombshell looks that knocked everyone dead.

Noteworthy

  • National Lampoon’s Vacation – Who doesn’t remember the hand-full of scenes between Chevy Chase and Christie Brinkley in the original Vacation movie. That smile – DAMN!
  • Billy Joel: Uptown Girl Video – Great song! Billy Joel featured his wife or girlfriend or soon to be wife – I am not going to look it up, it does not matter – in the video for his song Up Town Girl. Their look together with the chemistry they shared… it worked.
  • Parks and Recreation – Could they have gotten anybody better to play Jerry’s wife?!?

Adopting a really positive attitude can work wonders to adding years to your life, a spring to your step, a sparkle to your eye, and all of that.

Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig Born March 2, 1968   Daniel Craig has not been in my favorite Bond movies but he is one of the best actors to ever utter the phrase of naming from that series of movies. Besides Bond, Craig has managed to keep up his skills by acting in all manner of...

Uma Thurman

Uma Thurman Born April 29, 1970   Uma Thurman first slid into my view as Mia Wallace in Pulp Fiction and though I have not been as obsessed as Tarantino, I do tend to seek out movies that she is in. There is something raw about the way that she delivers dialogue...

Ed Helms

Ed Helms - Born January 24, 1974 Ed Helms is one of my favorite performers alive today. I say, performer, because he is way more than just an actor. Whether he is improvising, singing, or acting, Ed Helms is one of those people that brings a smile to your face. As...

Bryan Cranston

Bryan Cranston Born March 7, 1956   Bryan Cranston hit my radar when he was on Seinfeld, one of the best sitcoms ever. Then he was on Malcolm in the Middle - another of my favorites that I have binge-ed through several times. Then he changes gears and he is the...

Plantains- The Other Starch of the Americas

I’ve been a pretty fortunate gringo as I am blessed with three families, one by blood and two by adoption of sorts.  After I moved to DC in the early 2000s not knowing a person in the world I quickly made two friends, one Colombian and the other Cuban; both obviously...
